Documenting the Dead, with Dustin Pari This event is FULL

Internationally known paranormal researcher Dustin Pari will present a respectful retrospective talk on contacting the other side. His talk will be filled with anecdotes from his travels, evidence from his investigations and historical stories. The talk will be a blend of educational, fun and creepy research.

Deep River Book & Movie Club

Wednesday, October 18th at 1:00PM.

To Kill a Mockingbird, the Pulitzer Prize winning novel by Harper Lee. The book delves into roots of human behavior; innocence and experience, kindness and cruelty, love and hatred, humor and pathos. It is considered a masterpiece of American Literature.

Local Author Katherine Hauswirth

Saturday October 7th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Katherine Hauswirth, a Deep River nature writer, will read from her book The Book of Noticing: Collections and Connections on the Trail and sign copies. She will also give an introductory exploration of nature writing. There will be time spent on your own in nature and to record some preliminary ideas. At the end there will be discussion time and sharing of drafts. (Sharing work is not required.)

Helping Ghosts Move On

Saturday October 21st from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m.

Psychic and medium Paul Rice will share his ghost stories and answer questions about his work. His experience includes ghost hunting, palm reading, astrology and massage therapy. He excels at energy work which encompasses a broad range of mind and body techniques.

Collection Cabinets

The library director Susan Rooney will display her unique and spooktacular collection of Halloween items in one case.

In the other case Marilyn Malcarne will continue to display her lovely hats. Marilyn is a certified milliner who studied at the Fashion Institute of America in New York, New York. All hats made by her!

The Deep River Brick Bunch Open Lego Construction

October 5th and 19th; 3:45 - 4:45 pm.

This is a drop-in program. We now have large blocks for the younger kids! For more information, call the library.

Thursdays are Terrific at the Deep River Public Library! Join us for BABY BOUNCE, a lap sit program for babies up to 24 months and their caregivers, followed by open play and social time. Older siblings may attend. No registration is required. Dates for this program will be on the following

Pre-school Power Hour, October 6th, & 27th; 10:30 am. Join our popular interactive power hour of stories, songs, fingerplays and more, followed by Open Play. Open to all ages. No sign-up is necessary.

ABC Amigos visits on October 20th; 10:30. Join us for an interactive Spanish experience, perfect for the preschool set!

We'll have a super special treat on October 13th; 10:30 when Rick Daniels of the Deep River Fire Department will visit us in a fire truck to raise awareness of Fire Prevention Week and what we all do to stay safe.

Deep river Drive-in!

October 25th; 5:30 p.m. We'll be showing Trick or Treat on Sesame Street (75 minutes) at our drive-in this month. No registration necessary and box car seating for the first 20 kids.
