Adult Programs

The Book and Movie Club will be watching the Suffragette Wednesday, April 19 - 1 p.m.

The story of the women foot soldiers of the early feminist movement in the United Kingdom. Most of these women were working women who had seen peaceful protests achieve nothing. They turned to violence as the only route to change and were willing to lose everything in their fight for equality - their jobs, their homes, their children and their lives.

Jeff the Plant Guy presents Hemp, Wednesday, April 26, 6 p.m.

Jeff the Plant Guy from The People Plant Connection will present a program on hemp. He'll discuss the history, medical benefits and future of hemp as well as why it was made illegal in the U.S. You will receive some hemp seeds for medicinal purposes which have been imported from Canada and are 100% safe. You'll be instructed to use them in a shake to reduce inflammation. Please call the library to register, 860-526-6039.

The Library's own Kaylee Moen will display her collection of action figures and statues.

Priscilla and Lou Lerner are displaying Boats and Birds, Priscilla's boat paintings and Lou's bird carvings.

Children's Programs

The Deep River Brick Bunch Open Lego construction

This is a drop-in program on April 6th & 20th at 3:45 - 4:45PM. We now have large blocks for the younger kids! For more information, call the library.


Thursdays are Terrific at the Deep River Public Library! Join us for BABY BOUNCE, a lap sit program for babies up to 24 months and their caregivers, followed by open play and social time. Older siblings may attend. No registration is required. Dates for this program will be on the following Thursday mornings: April 6, 20, and 27. Starts at 10:30 am. **There is no class on April 13.

Saturday, April 29th at 10:30 am! Be Super! Get out your Superhero digs and join us for a special story time that celebrates caped crusaders and masked heroes! Best suited for ages 2-5, but all are welcome!


Pre-school Power Hour, April 7th and 28th at 10:30. with stories and songs in an interactive setting, followed by Open Play. Open to all ages.

ABC Amigos visits on April 21st at 10:30 am. Join us for an interactive Spanish experience, perfect for the preschool set! *There is no class on April 14th.
