Small Island by Dr. Andrea Levy. Set mainly in the British Empire of 1949, this story of emigration, loss and love follows four characters -- two Jamaicans and two Britons -- as they struggle to findpeace in postwas England. 2004 Winner of the Orange Prize for fiction.

Flu Clinic
Wednesday, Oct 26 from 12:30 PM - 2:30PM

The Visiting Nurses of the Lower Valley will present a flu shot clinic at the library to help immunize people before flu season begins. Medicare, Anthem Blue Cross, Aetna and ConnectiCare are accepted. Be sure to bring your insurance card with you. The cost for people without insurance is $40. For ages 16 and above.

Sue Wisner is displaying a collection of blue objects in a display entitled, All Things Blue.

Sue Hollister is displaying her collection of postcards from World War II. This is an interesting collection of cards covering a very important era of the world's history.

This is a drop-in program. We now have large blocks for the younger kids! For more information, call the library.

Saturday, October 8th at 10:30AM. For non-walkers & caregiver.

This is a one-a-month story time exclusively for non-walking babies and their caregivers! Older siblings may attend, but the program will be geared toward the littlest library users! No registration required.

Cooking Club!
Wednesday, October 26st at 6PM. Ages 5-12.

Whip up a tasty treat with friends! Registration is required for this program and limited to 10 children. Call the library or email drplchildrensdept@gmail.com to sign up!


Pre-school Power Hour, October 7 at 10:30. with stories and songs in an interactive setting, followed by Open Play. Open to all ages.
